About the art
What is Savate?
Savate, or boxe française, is the French art of fighting with the hands and feet. It grew from street fighting in 19th-century France into a sport, and it is fought in shoes: kicks land with the toe, the sole or the heel, and punches with the gloves.
Savateurs fight either the assaut, a light-touch technical bout judged on precision and style, or the full-contact combat. Progress is marked by coloured technical gloves, from blue to yellow and then silver.

The Savate technique library and a starter grading ladder are ready when you create your club, and you can change any of it to match your syllabus.
Punches and shoe kicks
The jab, cross, hooks and uppercuts alongside the fouetté, chassé, revers and the low kick to the shin, with parries, slips and feints.
Combinations that flow
The Combo Builder links punches and kicks the way the gradings ask: a jab and cross into a low kick, or a chassé into a cross.
Glove gradings
Start from the technical glove ladder - blue, green, red, white, yellow and silver - and record each savateur's progress.

Savate has no forms. Lessons are built around technique, pad work, the assaut and grading sequences instead.

Questions
Savate clubs often ask
Do you cover canne de combat?
Not yet: the library is savate boxe française. Add canne techniques as custom techniques if your club teaches them.
Can we show the French terms?
Yes. Choose French and English, English only or French only for the whole club.
Can we use our own syllabus and grades?
Yes. The starter ladder is only a starting point. Rename grades, change colours, add your own requirements and set the lessons and time each grade needs.
Can one club teach more than one martial art?
Yes. Choose a main martial art when you create your club and add others in the club settings. Each keeps its own technique library.
Can you move our students across from our current system?
Yes. Import students from a spreadsheet and check every row before it is saved, or send us your records and we will move them across for you free of charge.
How much does it cost?
Small clubs can use the Free plan with no card required. Paid plans add capacity and features as your club grows.
