About the art
What is Fencing?
Fencing is the Olympic sport of the sword, contested at every modern Games since 1896. Fencers score with the point or, in sabre, the edge, using fast footwork to control the distance and blade actions - attacks, parries and ripostes - to find the target first. Its language is French: en garde, fente, parade, riposte.
There are three weapons. Foil scores on the torso and uses right of way to decide who attacked first; épée scores anywhere on the body, and both fencers can score together; sabre scores above the waist with cuts and thrusts, and also uses right of way. In the UK, British Fencing's awards take fencers through Levels 1 to 6 in each weapon.

British Fencing award levels
Start from a ladder of Levels 1 to 6, set the lessons and time each level needs, and add a syllabus for each weapon if your club grades them separately.

Questions
Fencing clubs often ask
Can our foil, épée and sabre fencers train in the same club?
Yes. The library covers all three weapons, the Combo Builder builds each combination for the weapon you choose, and you can run a separate syllabus for each weapon.
Can we show the French terms?
Yes. Choose French and English, English only or French only for the whole club.
Can we use our own syllabus and grades?
Yes. The starter ladder is only a starting point. Rename grades, change colours, add your own requirements and set the lessons and time each grade needs.
Can one club teach more than one martial art?
Yes. Choose a main martial art when you create your club and add others in the club settings. Each keeps its own technique library.
Can you move our students across from our current system?
Yes. Import students from a spreadsheet and check every row before it is saved, or send us your records and we will move them across for you free of charge.
How much does it cost?
Small clubs can use the Free plan with no card required. Paid plans add capacity and features as your club grows.
