Snapping side kick delivered quickly from chamber
Key steps
- Bring the knee up tightly across the body with the hips beginning to turn side-on.
- Snap the foot out sideways using a quick knee extension rather than a long pushing action.
- Keep the torso upright and the supporting foot turned enough to allow the hips to align without strain.
- Pull the knee back to chamber and place the foot down carefully into stance.
Coaching points
- Keep the supporting leg strong and stable.
- Chamber and re-chamber the kicking leg cleanly.
- Do not sacrifice posture just to reach higher.
