Vertical fist punch or uppercut used at close range.

Key steps

  1. Keep the fist vertical from a compact chamber.
  2. Drive up the centerline or slightly inside the guard.
  3. Finish with the fist stacked above the elbow and the shoulders down.
  4. Recover quickly so the body stays connected underneath the strike.
