Tsuru Ashi Dachi
One-legged balance stance with the supporting leg bent
Key steps
- Balance on one leg with the supporting knee bent and the lifted foot drawn up close to the standing leg.
- Keep the weight centered over the supporting foot and engage the core so the pelvis stays level.
- Lift the torso tall, fix the eyes forward, and keep the arms organized in guard or the required kata position.
- Hold the stance with calm control and be ready either to kick, place the foot down, or turn from the balance.
