One-legged balance stance with the supporting leg bent

Key steps

  1. Balance on one leg with the supporting knee bent and the lifted foot drawn up close to the standing leg.
  2. Keep the weight centered over the supporting foot and engage the core so the pelvis stays level.
  3. Lift the torso tall, fix the eyes forward, and keep the arms organized in guard or the required kata position.
  4. Hold the stance with calm control and be ready either to kick, place the foot down, or turn from the balance.
