Key steps
- Lift and chamber the leg tightly as you jump so the side kick can extend from a side-on alignment.
- Drive the heel sideways through the target while the body remains braced and aligned in the air.
- Keep the jump compact and the guard responsible so the technique stays crisp rather than sprawling.
- Land under control and absorb the impact with the knees before settling back into stance.

- Keep the supporting leg strong and stable.
- Chamber and re-chamber the kicking leg cleanly.
