Jumping roundhouse kick using airborne rotation
Key steps
- Set the jump from a balanced base and begin the knee lift and hip turn before you leave the floor fully.
- Rotate in the air just enough to let the roundhouse path form, then snap the leg through the target line.
- Keep the body compact in the air so the kick stays controlled and does not over-rotate.
- Land with bent knees and re-establish your stance quickly after the kick.
Coaching points
- Keep the supporting leg strong and stable.
- Chamber and re-chamber the kicking leg cleanly.
- Do not sacrifice posture just to reach higher.
