Lead Head Level Punch

Key steps

1. Work from a light fighting stance with the front hand positioned to fire first.
2. Send the lead hand straight toward head height on a short direct line with minimal telegraphing.
3. Keep the chin tucked and avoid leaning forward as the punch lands.
4. Pull the lead hand back to guard quickly so the strike can flow into a reverse punch or another follow-up.

Coaching points

• Use speed and timing rather than reaching.
• Keep the shoulder down and the chin tucked.
• Return immediately so the next attack is ready.
