Crossed-leg stance used for turning and coiling the body

Key steps

  1. Cross one foot past the other so the legs weave together while the knees stay bent for balance.
  2. Keep the weight centered between the feet and avoid letting the stance tip or collapse inward.
  3. Stay tall through the spine, keep the hips under you, and use the arms to balance rather than waving them out.
  4. Hold the crossed position only as long as needed for the turn, coil, or transition, then move out cleanly.
