Groin Kick
Kin Geri
Fast rising groin kick used sparingly and with more control than a beginner front kick
Key steps
- Stay close enough that the kick can rise quickly without needing a big chamber or visible preparation.
- Lift the knee and snap the foot upward through the groin line on a compact direct path.
- Keep the hands ready and the torso upright so the kick remains fast and discreet.
- Recoil promptly and return the foot to stance without overcommitting your weight.
Coaching points
- Keep the supporting leg strong and stable.
- Chamber and re-chamber the kicking leg cleanly.
- Do not sacrifice posture just to reach higher.
