Dropping axe kick crashing down through the target
Key steps
- Raise the leg high enough that the heel can fall downward through the target line with structure.
- Drive the heel down sharply using body control rather than simply letting the leg fall uncontrolled.
- Keep the torso tall and the supporting leg grounded so the drop has stability behind it.
- Bring the kicking leg back under control and re-establish your stance immediately after the drop.
Coaching points
- Keep the supporting leg strong and stable.
- Chamber and re-chamber the kicking leg cleanly.
- Do not sacrifice posture just to reach higher.
