Key steps

  1. Place the feet about hip width apart and turn the toes outward so the stance opens slightly at the front.
  2. Spread the weight evenly through both feet and keep the knees soft instead of rigidly locked.
  3. Stay upright through the spine with the hips level, shoulders relaxed, and the head facing straight ahead.
  4. Hold the stance naturally and calmly so it feels neutral, stable, and ready for movement.
