Defensive side-on stance with most weight on the rear leg.

Key steps

  1. Step back and turn side-on.
  2. Keep the back leg well bent and the front leg extended but not locked.
  3. Point the front toes forward and set the rear foot near a right angle.
  4. Hold most of the weight on the back leg so the front side can defend or counter.
